This is Kirsty Brown she is 18 years old Aspirer and is from East London. She is studying Fashion Photography at  the University of Arts London, she loves to shop, she is still living with her parents so she can save money for her monthly spending sprees. She works in a Camera store called Lomography. She loves getting her nails Manicured every week. She loves to go out with her friends and shop in her spare time. She likes to keep up with they latest fashion trends so every month she splashes out on the latest issues of Nylon, i-D, Elle and Vogue. Her fashion and music icons are Jessie J and Rihanna. She is obsessed with BoyLondon after seeing them wear the brand in their Music Videos.

Artist Research - Jessie J

By

Jessica Cornish (born 27 March 1988), most people know her by Jessie J, she is an English singer and songwriter. Born and raised in London, she studied at the BRIT School before signing with Gut Records and striking a songwriting deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing where she wrote for artists such as Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus.

Codes & Conventions

Codes and Conventions are the common 'things' / elements that appear in a media text / product, specifically in Music Videos.

There are four elements to a music video;


  • Genre - type or category, different genres require different conventions
  • Narrative Structure - order of events / sequence
  • Media Language - technical terms, camera, MES, editing and sound
  • Representation - the way in which a person/event/object/group of people are shown. Will often have messages and values based on the point of view of the person who constructs the media text.
